To DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to C. SUB-FRAME FOR EAC. 48380 We shall have the sub-frame ready for the EAC. 'W' series early next week. We certainly cannot send a chassis to the Coach-builders. The sub-frame has been made to suit 'W' series which has the joggle in the rear end of the frame 1" farther back than standard. Will you be satisfied if we fix a dummy dashboard to the front end of the sub-frame? The other alternative is, we could fix a sub-frame on to a scrap main frame. We have a number of scrap main frames which have been used on the bumping rig. Will you please let us know what are the best arrangements you can make, bearing in mind the fact that the Coachbuilders will not see the chassis. We do not want to make up a special 40/50 chassis solely for mounting on a body. We are crowded out with work in the Expl: Dept: at the present time. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
