BENTLEY 111. REVISED EXHAUST SYSTEM TO SUIT NEW CHASSIS FRAME.

Please receive herewith the following designs :-

E.CD.203 Silencer - Exhaust System. Bentley 111.
E.CD.204 Tail Pipe (Front End) Exhaust System. Bentley 111.
E.CD.205 Tail Pipe (Rear End) Exhaust System. Bentley 111.

All of which are to suit the dropped type of chassis frame to FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}32 and F.CD.139.

We have shown the Wraith 111 type of suspension for the exhaust pipes, although these may require altering to one of the designs for heat insulation shown on drawing E.CD.200 in accordance with results obtained by experiment on the Wraith 111 cars.

A revised design of pipe joints to replace the bolted flanges by means of a sliding clamped joint is also in hand, and will be issued shortly for trial.

The position and capacity of the Silencer is governed by the frame cross and the inside details of the silencer will be determined by the Experimental Department.

Will you please detail and instruct the necessary parts experimentally.

The design of the intermediate pipe between the front expansion box and the silencer is in hand, and will following shortly to complete the designs for exhaust system.
