Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} WRITTEN DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}7/G.5.11.37 File BENTLEY 111 - REVISED EXHAUST SYSTEM TO SUIT NEW CHASSIS FRAME. ------------------------------------------------- 423 Please receive herewith E.CD.201 Expansion Box, Downtake Pipe etc. - Bentley 111.Exhaust System. This design is a modification to the original design to E.CD.115 and E.CD.116, and has been made to suit the revised chassis frame recently instructed. Wraith 111. manifold is still used, the downtake pipe is new, and the front expansion box is same as for Wraith 111. It will be noticed that there is still room for increasing the capacity of the expansion box if necessary, as the new chassis frame has given us more space around the engine. are We/also now able to use in the Wraith 111 engine breather pipe and also the Wraith 111 main oil supply pipe to crankshaft bearings as shown on E.CD.68. The support bracket for expansion box to crankcase is new, as also are the support stays for intermediate pipe to clutch casing. The remainder of the exhaust system to suit the new chassis frame will follow shortly. Will you please detail and instruct the necessary details experimentally. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
