The difference between a normal crankshaft and a plain bar is so great that we feel that we must again try counter-weights, though previously they have never given us anything. The alternative is to hold the crankshaft from distortion by the C.I. crankcase and block cast in one. This we shall also have on test shortly. It is interesting to have confirmation that the flywheel is at least partially responsible for roughness.
