Please receive herewith tracings of :- G.CD.748. Modification to Rear Brakes Equaliser. G.CD.591. Rear Brakes Intermediate Shaft. G.CD.748. This Scheme shows a modification to improve the geometry of the Rear Brake Rope, and in principle is the same as shown on S.CD.580. for B.50 Chassis. G.CD.591. To enable the modification to the Rear Brakes Equaliser to be carried out, it was necessary to lower the Intermediate Shaft, the alteration to the position being shown on this Scheme. At the same time the construction of the Intermediate Shaft has been simplified. The above Schemes should be used in conjunction with the Rear Brakes shown on G.CD.558. This being a Phan.III. experiment, the urgency of it is a matter of debate, and is sent through to clear the proposals for a combined Hand and Foot Brake on Phan.III.
