X8710 EFC. BY/RD1/N.11.7.29. Ignition Coils. With reference to your report on Ignition Coil failures, we of course appreciate that the soft foundation on to which we wind the secondary is detrimental to the job, and we are doing all in our power to avoid it. You have six coils for test in which the insulation on the end of the primary has been left off, and as this is the chief cause of the bulkiness, the sooner we have your report that these our O.K. the sooner we shall be able to remove this softness which is leading us into trouble. (handwritten note: all LS type 20,000 turns) One coil of this type was made up last November, and I believe has been mislaid, a further half dozen have been made up recently and you have them for testing. If the testing of these coils is not completed will you please urge this along. BY/RD | ||
