-2- PAST COMPLAINTS. 87-WJ. N.C. Macnamara. "Bumping on buffers" and brake drums fouling sub-frame. Complaint received at Nice Depot. Car at N. March 26th. New buffers fitted to clear sub-frame and spring clips also reduced. 31-XJ. R.D. Benjamin. "Bumping and vibration on pot-holey roads". Complaint received at Nice. He called. Nice attended to sub-frame clearance and Ps. sent them material, to increase shock absorber loading. Owner has agreed to bring car to W. on return to England. 17-WJ. Marquis of Anglesey. "Over frequent bumping even with light loads in England." Hb.{C. E. Harcombe} dealt with and car taken to N. Shock absorbers short of oil. Driver reported great improvement after filling. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} took up with W. question of partially filled absorbers but has heard nothing. 25-XJ. Jack A.{Mr Adams} MacTaggart. "Sharp periodic vibration on rough surfaces" - rear springs changed, loading of absorbers altered. 127-XJ. Hon. Charles Winn. "Bumping on rear buffers". Body 2-cwt. heavier than specified; spring said to be too light even with body weight correct. Stronger rear springs fitted. 23-WJ. Capt. Kruse. Stronger springs fitted for Continental work. 6-WJ. Mrs. Kruse. "Bumping and swaying". Bad case of faulty weight distribution by Barkers. Spare wheels both in front, very short low body, no luggage carrier etc. Bad cushion and squabbing to get very low car. C. took up matter with Barkers, but position is unsatisfactory as Barkers have the car for sale and have not expressed any intention of altering it. 54-XJ. Capt. G.R. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Cooper. "Springing too light, bumps on axle" - two new rear springs fitted. 82-WJ. Capt. Malcolm Campbell. "Too lively, more damping than required with four up". Apparently overcome by varying poundage of shock absorbers as no further mention of matter by owner. | ||
