LEFT HAND CHASSIS 24-EX & 25-EX. The first left-hand chassis crossed over to France on Friday last. We expect it will have commenced the scheduled daily running yesterday. Since this car was last sent to France, the following alterations have been made to it :- (1) Latest type radiator with shallow top tank and thermostat operated shutters. The operation to the shutters has been modified to the latest designs. (2) Engine controls have been simplified. (3) Pipes to oil filter from exhaust hot spot and from the carburetter to the crankcase, have been re-arranged to give a neater appearance. (4) Petrol filter fitted on opposite side of the engine. (5) Ratchet clutch on Auto-Klean filter has been re-designed, the latest type fitted. (6) Central lubrication pump pedal re-arranged so that it can be operated by the driver. (7) Lubrication of front shock absorber and axle control arms re-arranged to the latest scheme. (8) Battery box modified to suit cantilever support off the frame. (9) Starting handle re-designed so that it can be operated with the bumper in position. (10) Exhaust system modified using aluminium expansion box. (11) Reserve compartment arranged in petrol tank. (12) Backing light switch. (13) Damper to prevent noise from brake mechanism. | ||
