| X260 To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}15/JH.12.3.36. GUB-5. The following modifications have been carried out on Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s car :- Clutch - New driving plate and clutch linings fitted. Gearbox - New 2nd. speed. " 3rd. speed. Other gears relapped. New Hoff. 340 bearings on 1st. motion shaft. Rear axle - New set of RR. cut gears. Test Report. The gearbox is now very good for silence, and synchromesh mechanism. The rear axle has a very bad period centred at 40 M.P.H. is very much worse on the over-run - no improvement on the previous set of gears. The works have been informed of this.
