GUB-5.

The following modifications have been carried out on Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s car :-

Clutch - New driving plate and clutch linings fitted.

Gearbox - New 2nd. speed.
" 3rd. speed.
Other gears relapped.
New Hoff. 340 bearings on 1st. motion shaft.

Rear axle - New set of RR. cut gears.

Test Report. The gearbox is now very good for silence, and synchromesh mechanism. The rear axle has a very bad period centred at 40 M.P.H. is very much worse on the over-run - no improvement on the previous set of gears. The works have been informed of this.

This engine mounting requires new rubbers front and rear, the present ones are early American type, and it is now impossible to use the starting handle.
