Dear Ward,

You will remember our discussion last time you were at the factory on the difficulty of getting into the driving seat of a Bentley, compared with carrying out a similar manoeuvre on the 14 H.P. Rover car.

At the time we discussed the reasons for this and what could be done to improve matters. We may shortly be requiring a new body for an Experimental Bentley car, and I should like to make the improved ingress a feature of this body. I should very much like to know what you suggest could be done, both with regard to the slope of the leading edge of the front doors, increase in the body width across the front seats, and decrease of width of the running boards, which I think were the chief factors discussed. I believe if we could present an attractive case we should not have much difficulty in getting the administration to agree to our having such a body built.

I am so sorry to hear you have not been well lately, and hope you are by now better.

Yours sincerely,
