THE ASPER SILENCER
-------------------

The Asper Silencer must be fitted parallel to the sides of the chassis, the exhaust pipe of the chassis being welded to the corresponding tube of the silencer.

Care should be taken in welding the tube that no dirt gets inside.

The front end of the silencer must not be masked in any way, otherwise it impedes its suction of air.

It is desirable that the Silencer should have double support as shewn in sketch.

After the Silencer is fitted the carburettor has to be adjusted to its maximum minimum.

There are engines which with a free exhaust will not continue to run if the carburettor is adjusted to the absolute minimum, but it will be found that with the ASPER SILENCER the absolute minimum of adjustment can be used.

After the Silencer is fitted the spark should be very slightly advanced.

Acceleration of the engine must be greatly restrained and used sparingly because the function of this new silencer isin itself an acceleration.

In changing speed therefore and on inclines, only the slightest acceleration is required, otherwise the engine will race and excess of acceleration will only be wasteof petrol.

The Asper silencer prevents carbon deposit in the cylinders as it sucks away all such deposit in its action.
