re. 10,000 Miles Test Car - 18-G-4.

In running this car one would imagine it was a bad boomer when new, but now settled down and body inclined to rattle.

The engine is generally rough and vigorous, but in spite of this it cannot be called disagreeable. There are none of the usual bad boom and vibration periods set up through the car, which usually is the case on new production cars with a similarly vigorous engine and similar body. I should like to have tried this car when new to appreciate the difference.

If due to engine mounting, it certainly shows a distinct advance. Can the mounting be temporarily made standard to compare the difference.

The above is a very important feature and should be concentrated upon, as it certainly is one of the worst snags we have at present with our 20/25 HP. and P.II. complete cars.

General running. I agree with GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}'s 6,000 Miles report.

Considering the engine vigour, the performance is comparatively poor, but only what one would expect with 36 1/2 cwt. complete car. What we have gained by increased engine power we have lost by increased loading on the chassis.

Should say that this car is a case where the attachment between scuttle and dash is too rigid. Front of body thumps and knocks over bad roads.

SPRINGING. rear rides like standard 20, feels to require more damping at higher speeds. Front rides hard, radiator jellies. Considerable movement of bonnet front on strip.

STEERING. Generally good, but not too good directional at higher speeds, uneven roads. Steering control too springy, or affected by back sway.
