-2- HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}10/KW.1.12.35. specifications ready long before this date to make it possible. Our first move is to send you some DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}-42 carbs. to be brought up to date. Further to our last meeting, these are to have the hand controlled mechanism fitted, incorporating fast idle device, but having no poppet valves (plain choke valve). These carbs. should be stripped and rebuilt to the latest specification "setting" as you know it, except that we would like an .062 main jet fitting instead of .060. The one point outstanding to you will be the alteration to the spindle gland (leakage). You are then waiting for our final specifications re - (1) Finish; controls; materials, etc. (2) Necessary mods. to float chamber lid{A. J. Lidsey} to take an overflow drain pipe. We would like to mention at this stage that, up to the present, Zeniths have not co-operated with us as efficiently as we had hoped. It will be to our mutual advantage if from henceforth we can have closer co-operation. For example, when we order material from you, we would like immediate acknowledgement with a reliable date for delivery. Kind regards. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
