To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} 600a Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}7/MH.{M. Huckerby}11.3.38. 26.G.VI EXHAUST VALVES. This memo to confirm that you will measure for stretch, and crank test the 6 exhaust valves which we have handed to HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel} as received from Chateauroux out of the above car. They have run 7,405 miles in France and prior to being removed the valves had lost clearance to the extent of .010 per day. Most of this is thought to be sinkage of the seats in the heads, however this will be verified by your check of the actual valves. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} | ||
