X7960 M... from PH. Copy to... PH.19/WTD.9.33. 20-H.P. London Trials. After this car had run about 2,000 miles fitted with the H.T.3 Hydro Tele-control shock absorbers, it was found that these became noisy when running fast, and on Saturday last Andre, in one hour, changed them for a complete new set. I have now received their report which is as follows :- "With reference to the set of type H.T.3 Hydro Telecontrol shock absorbers returned from your demonstration car with the complaint that these are noisy, we find in one of the shock absorbers that the brass liner has become detached from the drum. The real cause of the noise, however, is due to distortion in the drums. We have taken steps to get over this difficulty by increasing the thickness of the drums, and also internally machining them before the brass liner is fitted. We are of the opinion that this will entirely eliminate the trouble you have recently had with noise. Regretting the trouble caused you." I hope that in view of the action they are taking we shall not have further trouble of this nature. PH. | ||
