Atlas & Norfolk Works,
Sheffield. 1.

For the attention of Mr. Briars.

Dear Sirs,

Confirming our telephone conversation of today with your Mr. Woolman, we are satisfied with the durability of the modified springs (FB.4364) you sent us for test and your spring department will accordingly receive instructions to proceed to modify the 13 sets in a similar manner.

With regard to the remaining 42 pairs we would suggest that you design us a spring with a maximum stress of 33 tons.sq.in. and let us have two for trial as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
