-2- On the question of sprocket supply, you will appreciate that for mass production of such sprockets it is necessary to have an installation of special machine tools which will do the work at a low cost. In view of English users of chain drives preferring to manufacture their own wheels, as above referred to, we have not installed here an equipment of the necessary hobbing machines. As a matter of fact, we have taken care of the situation by means of our Associated Company at Detroit, U.S.A., being fully equipped for turning out these sprockets at a very low price. This, of course, is not particularly interesting to you in view of the fact that you have already obtained a set of gears from our Associated American Company. These remarks, however, will serve to explain why we are not quoting on the sprockets. Yours faithfully, THE MORSE CHAIN COMPANY LTD. | ||
