| X21J. To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/AD29.11.32. J.I. CRANKSHAFT X5010. As we have increased the diameter of the journals on the crankshafts the noses remain of the same size. The result is a very sudden change of section from the journal bearing to the nose. We believe that this definitely adversely affects the top torsional period of the crankshaft. When we put the Bensport crankshaft into production it would be an opportunity to rectify this state of affairs. Another point is that we think the slipper wheel on Bensport should have the strengthened central plate as on the 40/50. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
