With reference to steering stiffeners and the galling of the bottom bush, we can try some in bronze to see whether they improve matters; at the same time I have suggested that the pin be drilled the whole length, so that in oiling the top the bottom will get oiled also. I think this is a good way of treating the matter, especially as the wire wheels make the bottom oiling cup rather difficult to remove without removing the wire wheel, but I imagine that it will be preferable to let the oil flow into the lower cap from the top filling it up and climbing the bush either by the head or capillary attraction.
