To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} x5c60 E.3/HP.5.7.33. Non-Spillable Petrol Tank Filler. Referring to the standardization sheet for the above - X.7460 and 5460, we should like to know if this refers to the original experimental model or LeC.3466 which was based on the original experiment, and issued for experimental test by memo E/NR.1/HP26.5.33. This point is important because in the original experimental report certain suggestions were made for moving the fulcrum of the lid{A. J. Lidsey} to overcome the tendency for the leather washer to be crushed and destroyed on one side. On investigating this point we came to the conclusion that the mounting of the leather washer was insufficiently flexible, and that the modification of this would overcome the fault without altering the fulcrum point of the lid.{A. J. Lidsey} All these points are covered by LeC.3466 above. LID{A. J. Lidsey} See me E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
