Philco recommend that the aerial should be the running boards when of metal or covered in metal carefully insulated and connected up with cross wires. They tell us that such aerials have proved successful on a number of American cars.

Unfortunately, the insulation is something of a problem on the Bentley where we are glad to have the stiffness obtained by the front wings and running boards being rigidly attached to each other and to the chassis frame.

We think, however, that it may be possible to try the scheme recommended by Philco on the P.III and we are advising the principal coach-builders to this effect.

We have put the Philco Corporation in touch with Park Ward in the hope they will be able to devise an alternative scheme for the Bentley which will be more satisfactory than the aerial Park Ward have used in the past.

We are told that the Philco people rather fancy the spare wheel may answer their purpose and arrangements are now being made for this to be experimented with.
