Dear Sirs,

Attention of Mr Breedon.

X.4342.L. Starter Motor for "Goshawk II" Engine.

As promised we sent you yesterday Sketch No.90732, which gives the maximum possible overall length for the above.

You will notice that we shew the outside dia. dimensioned at 4½" which was decided upon with you on Saturday July 2nd. We trust this will enable you to look into the matter which we can then further discuss at our next visit on Monday July 11th.

We beg to confirm the other particulars given you:-

Engine - 6 cylinders 3" X 4½".
Gear Ratio. - 8.4 to 1.
Estimated Engine Torque - cold. - 500 lb. inches.
Direction of rotation- Anti-clockwise looking on commutator end.
Terminals on top.

We propose that we make the shaft and end bracket and the other small parts. To enable us to do this we require from you a sectional arrangement drawing in order that we may see that we clear the windings with our end bracket, a frame drawing to design our end bracket to suit, and a drawing of your shaft.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS ROYCE LTD.
