Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Fowler Clark, I am afraid I misled you about the points on my 20 H.P. car, when I told you that they were going quite all right. Unfortunately, I was told something yesterday which I ought to have known of long ago. Several times I have noticed that the car has been running very lumpily and when standing still, the engine thumping, and misfiring at low speeds. It has been cured each time and I have put it down to the air valve not being worked properly, but now my driver tells me that it is the points and that the car has never run 200 miles without having to have the points attended to. He has in his care three other 20 H.P. cars (two of which are the same series as mine) and these never have to have their points touched at all, whereas mine need continual attention. I am sorry I did not let you know this before. Yours sincerely, G R N Minchin | ||
