Two sets of the above type of brake drums are required, as follows - (1) A set of drums to suit the B.II with non servo brakes, and to which it has been agreed to fit the pressed steel wheels. The front drum is to be Bentley II width, the rear to be Bentley III width; both drums 12" internal dia. Special hubs to suit the pressed steel wheels will be required. The water excluder arrangements should be such that the drums are readily interchangeable with the B.II drums now instructed for the non-servo brake car. The front will thus be tongue and groove type, the rear the plain type. These drums will not fit any other car. (2) A set of drums to suit a B.III, with wire wheels. They should be interchangeable with the aluminium drums now instructed for B.III's, 12" dia. tongue and groove water excluders front and rear. Cast iron rear shoes are required when iron drums are used; please instruct. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} | ||
