Dear Mr. Robotham,

I am pleased to say that we are arranging to despatch the double tooth Gear, which we have been manufacturing for the Bentley car, either today or tomorrow, and I think in connection with this Gear it is only right that I should confirm what I told you verbally when you were at these Works that from the information we have from America, it would appear that the maximum duty this Gear is suitable for is in connection with a car with ordinary balloon tyres, the front axle weight of which does not exceed 15 cwts, and this on the assumption that not less than 70° of the 75 available degrees of the Rockershaft are used when going from full lock to full lock.

We have put the gear on full load here at these Works, and from the preliminary tests we have given the Gear would appear to be very satisfactory, but we shall be extremely interested to hear from you when you have been able to get it on the road.

I am,
Yours sincerely,

GMatravers.
