The Atmo Rubber & Chemical Co. Edgeware MIDDLESEX have sent us the attached (to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}) samples of "CORTEX" Anti-vibration material, about which they write as follows.

"The triangular sample is an example of a "CORTEX" Body Mounting Pad, which is already being used on the 1934 Model of a prominent Motor Car Manufacturer.

It has also been found that "CORTEX" is an excellent material for the lining of Metal Bodies, as it absorbs vibration and drumming is prevented, the thin sample of the substance recommended for this purpose is enclosed."

"CORTEX" is natural Cork bonded with vulcanised Rubber, therefore it is an ideal material for the absorption of sound and vibration, is extremely light, and also has a fair tensile strength, which is imparted to it by the vulcanised Rubber."

If you will let us have the design of your Mounting Pads, we shall be very pleased to supply you with sample sets free of charge to try out, also if you are interested in "CORTEX" in your bodies, we shall be pleased to let you have a sample of this substance for trial purposes."

Will you please pass these samples on to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} when finished with.

ROY.{Sir Henry Royce}
