IN YOUR REPLY PLEASE QUOTE BFC/LGM PHONE EXTENSION No........... Dec. 23rd, 1929. Dear Sirs, We have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 19th inst., and the nature of your complaint is such that we consider it obviously a subject of the Manufacturers' investigation. We have been in telephonic communication with the Works at Cleveland, Ohio, and they are sending one of their representatives over as soon as he can get away; anyway very early in the New Year. This is the first whisper of dissatisfaction that has come to our notice, and we are absolutely unable to recommend a substitute for Whitmore, especially for hypoid gears. As you probably know, the best known firms in the States - Duesenberg, Packard, Chrysler, Marmon, etc.,etc., have for many years been using Whitmore No. 0 in their differentials, and some of them use it also in their gear box. We are exceedingly put about by your complaint, and sincerely hope that this will prove an isolated case. Yours faithfully, FOR BUCK & HICKMAN, Ltd. (H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} PURDY) DIRECTOR. | ||
