1st November 1915

We have received into our Stores a quantity of Vanadium Aluminium alloy from which we should make some experimental pistons. There is about two cwt. of this alloy and there should be no difficulty in making 18 piston castings.

Will you also produce at the same time say two tensile test pieces and two Upton-Lewis test pieces in order that we may test this material.
