EXTRACT FROM R2/IB5515 of MAY 5th, 1915. RE X.2535 - C.I.Zephyr Scraper ring pistons for standard car engine. "Would this C.I. Zephyr piston not do for the standard engine just as it is, or slightly modified, and can we not make the lower ring into a scraper ring so as to prevent the oil working into the combustion chamber. I do not think it is entirely wise to put the scraper ring below the reduced part. Be sure and have some pistons like these put in hand for the 150 HP engine. I am very anxious to get such a piston adopted as soon as possible on our standard car engines. There ought also to be some similar ones in progress for the Northcliffe engine."
