Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
4. £800 CAR.
Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} stated that the Ripplet was really the £800 car and that we were waiting for the cost people to confirm that this was so if it was made in reasonable quantities.
RIPPLETTO.
It was agreed that Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} would get out two specifications for this car.
(a) The simplest possible specification to which the car could be built to enable a trial to be made.
(b) The final specification to which the car would be completed if it's characteristics proved satisfactory after the initial run.
The final specification would include the R.R. gearbox, possibly lightened type front suspension, and a R.R. design of axle.
6. MYTH.
Some discussion took place on the Myth engine and it was agreed that, in order to enable it to function with a reasonable bottom gear as an 8 h.p. car, it should be made the maximum displacement consistent with reasonable engine proportions. It might even be necessary to go to a 4" stroke.
The engine of the Myth should be designed basically as a 10 h.p. unit, which can also be produced as an 8 h.p. unit.
Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} was also asked to arrange that if, owing to changes in the basis of taxation, it was permissable to sell the Myth as a 12 h.p. car, it should be possible to produce this engine in this size if there was no water between the bores.
