Bonnet for Bentley Chassis 2.B.5.

It has been agreed that we make the plan view of the B.3. and B.50 bonnets identical, so that the top hinge and top plates are the same for both.

As the body for 2.B.5. was framed prior to this decision and was made to take the bonnet of the standard type, shewn on F.CD.328, it is decided to fit this bonnet to the car.

The scheme for the bonnet valance strip, or rest angle and face plate is F.CD.303.

Both F.CD.328 and F.CD.303 have been drawn for the cast dash, whereas the sheet steel dash will be fitted. This entails the following modifications:-

(1) The bonnet eye on the dash will follow the design of PD.145, but the bracket shortened 1.500, by making a new bracket on the dash to receive EB.3295.

(2) The attachment of the rest angle and face plate F.CD.303 should follow the design for B.50, PD.148.

We suggest that two small schemes may be necessary for these features, but we feel that as little drawing as possible is desirable in view of the fact that the bonnet width and shape will not be perpetuated.
