re Battery Ignition.

We think that experiments with the Peregrine double breaker ignition should be continued as this is the type we shall expect to fit to future Bentley and Rolls-Royce engines.

The cam that should be used for further running is one already issued with .150" radius on the opening and .250" on the closing side.

We are trying out another cam on the board but the aforementioned cam should give good results.

A scheme has been issued for fitting the Peregrine ignition head to the Bentley and with this the ignition can be run on the engine as well as in the laboratory.

I have now run my Vauxhall with Delco double breaker ignition 42,000 miles fairly hard and have not touched the points myself, and so far as I am aware they may have been readjusted once during a decarbonisation. This ignition is very similar to the Peregrine and its good results may be attributed in part to the duty being shared by two sets of contacts and levers, which improvement we should like to have on our cars as soon as possible.

This type of ignition is wanted moreover for the improved make and break ratio so necessary to high revs.
