RE COATING INTERIOR OF JACKETS AND EXTERNAL PARTS OF CYLINDERS EXPOSED TO WATER TO PREVENT RUST.

Referring to Mr Chandler's memo Nr17/M11018, would you kindly arrange for somebody to get in touch with Mr Reeves to see that the job is proceeded with and the cylinders in question are handed to you as soon as possible.

I would like to state definitely that I am very much perturbed in regard to the corrosion of the cylinders. Some of these appear to have deep pit marks locally, very similar to those I used to see in high pressure boilers, and the rate of corrosion of these pits is certainly very high and therefore we may expect to hear of trouble unless we make a determined effort to overcome it.
