Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Mr.Grylls. F.{Mr Friese} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 4693. BY/NW{N. Walker - Patents}3/MB4.7.33. Re BUICK WATER COOLED OIL COOLER. In order to confirm our patent search made at your request to find what, if any, General Motors patents existed on the above, we wrote to Mr.Constantine, - General Motors Patent Agent in London, - and have now heard from him as follows:- " I am now advised by our Patent Section in Detroit that there are no patents in England owned by the Corporation or any of its subsidiaries covering water cooled oil coolers as applied to the Buick Engine. They add that it is now too late to file any corresponding application, and that, as a matter of fact there is very little in the device which is patentable. I am sure you can take this to mean that so far as we are concerned you are quite free to manufacture and use the above device if you wish to do so. If I can obtain for you any technical information regarding it please do not hesitate to let me know". BY/N.W. | ||
