Messrs. Rolls Royce Limited,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. Steadman.

Dear Mr. Steadman,

Further to your visit on Wednesday, we understand from a letter dated 19th inst., and signed by Mr. Wallace that the eight Oil Coolers you took with you were satisfactory when tested at your Works. These have been returned to us for machining.

We would like to confirm that we are clearing up small details such as the cleaning and/or tinning of the tube bulges before dipping. The dipping jig is being completed which will enable the tanks, side plates, and baffles to be dipped in one operation and we are testing for a longer period in the cold water. All these we consider to be minor improvements which will make for a sounder job.

We are also carrying out a destruction test in order to ascertain the pressure at which the cooler will break down, hoping from this tes to find out the weak points in the cooler construction. You will be advised of the result of these tests in due course.

Yours very truly,
FOR JOHN MARSTON, LIMITED,
A.W. Dunn.

RADIATOR & SHEET METAL DEPT.
