Messrs. Goodyear Tyre & Rubber Co. Ltd.,
WOLVERHAMPTON.

For the attention of Mr.R.E.Barton.

Dear Sirs,

We must apologise for the delay in sending you particulars of sizes for replacement belts on our Phantom III and Phantom II cars, as requested by your Mr.Perin, but the delay has been due to the fact that for the Phantom III car, there are three sizes of belt for which replacements might be required, and in order to make clear which belt is needed we have to get in touch with the people who handle Rolls-Royce cars in U.S.A. - the necessary information has not yet been forthcoming.

The production Phantom III car has been delivered up to now with a belt as shown on our blue print EB.221 (attached) in conjunction with a four bladed fan, while special 5 blade fans with larger belts have been supplied for cases of overheating. Two sizes of belt have been used with these service fans.

(1) On certain chassis a beltwith the following dimensions

Angle of vee 30°
Top width of vee .937"
Depth of vee section .562"
Outside circumference of belt 42.640
Inside circumference of belt 39.110

has been fitted.

(2) On all other Phantom III chassis with a five bladed fan, belts to our drawings E.89343 have been used.
