To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to CJ. c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL (stamped) X872 (handwritten) Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/LGC.10.5.23. 40/50 H.P. LUBRICATION OF CLUTCH SPIGOT. X872 Although we do not agree with the Springfield suggestion of dispensing with the clutch spigot lubrication entirely, we find, on making enquiries from the Repair and Test Departments, that they have difficulty in getting the present scheme to work reliably. We frequently receive complaints from customers of clutches flooding oil, also in other cases the adjustment of the oil valve is such that it cannot be operated by the clutch pedal. We attach hereto a print showing a scheme we are trying out on a car. It is the same arrangement to that we are using on the 20 HP. clutch spigot. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
