X4013 To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Hotel de France Chateauroux. Indre France. 30th November 1934 We have tried our car against the Paris cars. The new production cars which they are complaining about for lack of acceleration, are definitely down up to 40 MPH. (Top gear acceleration) We made the carburettor right on the car compalined of, but got no improvement in performance. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} was with us on our second tests and saw our results. The old type carburettor gives the same results as 21 G 1V. We tried a customers car that has run a considerable mileage, and it held its own in every respect with 21 G 1V. The Cadillac is at the Paris Dépôt. We are obtaining gudgeon pins and bushes from the Cadillac people, and having the bushes fitted by them. The car should be finished by Wednesday 5th December. we shall then continue the mileage. The hydraulic tappets that we cleaned remained quiet. We have not as yet dismantled the OS. bank of tappets. G.W.H. | ||
