CAR BATTERIES.

[Handwritten]: X7535
[Handwritten]: X664

These must be very conveniently
accessible without detaching any electrical connections or
moving the battery in any way. [Handwritten]: Agreed

We ought to be able to take the acid
density with the standard apparatus supplied by the battery
makers for that purpose, and fill up with a very small jug,
or other easily obtainable utensil. [Handwritten]: Agreed

I have not sufficient experience to
say how often the battery should be examined for filling up,
but one might guess every 500 or 1000 miles, or once or twice
a month according to the distance run, or other circumstances. [Handwritten]: Twice a month.

We should more glaringly point out
that where-ever there is trouble of too little charge, a very
small charging current should be run through the battery
[Handwritten]: If it can be
while the car is in the garage. Under some circumstances
there is no other way of meeting the difficulty, because a
bigger dynamo will charge the battery too quickly, and some-
times too much, resulting in destruction. [Handwritten]: But we have auto - switch.
