We have been carrying out some tests on the K-S petrol gauge to see if we can cope with the petrol pump proprietor who stops the air escape from the pump by means of a flap and then fills the tank full bore. We think we are utilising a pump for filling the tank which operates as rapidly as any we have previously seen. From our results we believe that we can cater for even a condition such as this, if we increase our air vents at the top of the filler nozzle both in number and size. We therefore assume that we can now do away with the air vent pipe in the tank unit altogether and modify our top gauge fitting as shewn on N.sch.2578 accordingly. We urgently require a tank unit as shewn on N.sch.2578 and N.sch.2576. We should be obliged if you could make up a tank unit temporarily as quickly as possible to suit these drawings. N.sch.2578 you already have. We are particularly anxious to get this gauge as soon as possible because it is to go on Mr. Royce's own car. It will be the first tank of this type and therefore you may have to make certain approximations, but as soon as we have one available we will send you a tank so that you can calibrate the dashboard mask accurately, when we will replace the temporary unit. contd :- | ||
