To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} " " c. to BJ. RG.{Mr Rowledge} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} X8040 R4/M22.11.26. PHANTOM, GOSHAWK, CONDOR X.8040 X.2603 AND F.10 PISTON RINGS. X.3996 X.2103 It is understood that the cure for gummed pistons is rings with increased wall pressure. No work on the above should proceed until increased pressure has been allowed for, at least 50% increase on the present standard. This should have marked effect not only on the gummed rings, but on oil consumption and piston reliability, as regards seizing up. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
