√5310 TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM AJS. SECRET. AJS1/M22. 6. 25. Copy to Mr. RW. INDIA. 4 SPEED GEARBOX. In reference to the free sliding of gear change lever transversely in its shaft bearings, we are writing this note as a reminder that we consider some little improvement might be made in this. In all cases the gate should be made .050 clear of the front and back edge of lever where it slides through it. Further we shall be glad to hear in due course whether you can effect any improvement in the sliding as referred to above, by careful attention to the clearance and setting of the interlock mechanism.
