To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X.4555 Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Evl/M13.10.23. RE. DIPPING HEAD LIGHTS. 20 HP. X.4555. We understand that Barkers are still fitting a very clumsy and non-mechanical device for dipping the head lights on Goshawk, and that quite a number are fitted. We have had for some time now a design of dipping head lights on our own and we feel that if this could be perfected we would prefer to offer it to customers in the place of the Barker scheme now used. Could Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} kindly tell us how the job stands, and whether he has had experience with the latest improvements, that is, larger lamps and a slight friction device on the hand control. | ||
