To EFC. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to CJ. " " BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} " " BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} " " DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} " " EH. ORIGINAL X.1928 X.664 X604 RE LEADS AND TERMINALS FOR 40/50 H.P. STARTING AND LIGHTING BATTERY. 4 Referring to the sample terminal and lead which you sent to Mr. Royce, would you kindly note that he thinks the insulation is good enough electrically, but not mechanically. The rubber covering should be protected by suitable braiding and the conductor will then be all right. The terminal is considered by Mr. Royce to be sufficiently good, but it is suggested that an aperture should be cut half-way along the socket so as to assist in the soldering operation. This aperture helps to ensure that the sweated joint between the conductor and the sheet metal terminal exists from one end of the socket to the other, see sketch. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
