Remote Control It was decided to have set out the merits of the various schemes mentioned, and what the customer gets out of each. 2. Hydraulic Transmission The date for W. to try this has been postponed, and a fresh date will be arranged. If report is favourable they will also try and get a set fitted on the Works Humber Snipe, so as to give them the opportunity of an extended test. 3. Steering Gear (a) Failure of the rocker shaft on car driven by Faroux. Tests with a bent steering rod have not yet been carried out. (b) An alternative proposal was submitted to the Conference of a more flexible shaft by reducing its diameter to a uniform one throughout its length. This is considered a better scheme, and will enable it to stand considerably greater twist effect without fracture. It was recommended ultimately that this scheme be adopted. | ||
