This project consisted of seeing what could be done to re-introduce B.50 into the programme on the lines of the Duffield Bank Project. The first move was to lower the B.III frame, as shewn on PD.32, to get the headroom for B.50 of 47.000, inches, and the car height overall remaining 5' 3 3/4". B.III. Engine Wraith III - 4 1/4 litre. Wheelbase. 10' 4" Dash to rear axle. 89.500" Overslung frame. Overall height 5' 3 3/4" Headroom. 47.000" Bodies. - Close Coupled Saloon. B.50. Engine-C.I. 3 1/2 litre(JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}Project) Wheelbase 10' 1" & 10' 6" Dash to rear axle 94.500" Overslung frame. Overall height 5' 3 3/4" Headroom. 47.000" Bodies - Close Coupled Saloon of B.III. Sixlight saloon with 5" more room in rear compartment. The B.50 frame would be made from the B.III dies by removing 3 inches from the front end to suit the shorter engine, for the Close coupled body. The Six-light body would have a 5 in. section added to the rear of the straight portion of the frame. All the bodies have common front and rears to facilitate production by dies. Continued..... | ||
