TO:- Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}19/JH.22.1.40.CREWE. (c. to M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} ) (c. to Sft{Mr Swift}/JMG.) (c. to M/AG. ) (c. to WG{Mr Gill - Financial Director}/P. ) M/AG/MB.25.1.40. Block 35. Referring to Sft{Mr Swift}/JWG.5/IMP.19.1.40. In reply to your memo of 19th.inst., it would appear that you have read only the first portion of the last paragraph of the memo referred to above. The latter part states that any change over on machines "is entirely dependent on Glasgow being satisfied that it will not interfere with their programme." The list of machines which should have been enclosed with your memo has not come to hand and consequently we cannot state whether we could be of assistance. It should be borne in mind that our suppliers are behind on their delivery shedule to the extent of roughtly 60% and any machines released, you will appreciate, cannot be replaced under a period of 15 months. At the moment we are negotiating for additional machines and deliveries given to-day are 68/74 weeks. If this delay continues it will be almost impossible to release anythingwe have purchased for the Glasgow Factory. M/AG. | ||
