Above—Design of wheel stand assembly permits setting the wheel spindle (or the internal grinding fixture) at an angle to wheel stand slide, and setting the slide at an angle to table ways. Scale graduated in half-degrees shows setting of slide. Wheel can be fed by hand or by power at all settings. Slide moves on scraped V and flat ways, protected by hinged guard.

Right—Three V-belts (shown with guards removed) provide smooth flow of power to wheel spindle. Change sheaves for motor give three wheel speeds. Internal grinding fixture is driven by flat belt from pulley shown beside motor sheave.

Below—Internal grinding fixture remains at the rear of the wheel stand platen when not in use (see views at upper left and at bottom), and is quickly brought into working position by swiveling the platen 180°. Zero marks indicate alignment.
