They say that the Link Belt is better than the Morse chain for continued high speeds & needs no cushioning device. From my addition of one of Jai's cables to CE for drawings in which I note as a chain

Believing we think we can get the cam building, I talked to Johnson about chains. He is of the opinion that the trouble is accumulated backlash.
Therefore an improved A'de shaft would help. Mr [illegible]'s In his point of view a cast iron box and steel gears would help. In particular he criticises our Simon balance chain and at the bottom as well as the sides. He says even only touch of one blade on More has sufficient oil cushioning. Personally our feel and wonder if the shaft did not stop a few fears from shafting under corner round. His recommendation.
