X 4256 GOSHAWK II - BACK AXLE TUBES.

Please note that Mr Royce has approved of the back axle tube shown on "H" Scheme 761, and steps should be taken to obtain the forging. So far as we know this tube is quite suitable for wire wheels, but it is probable that an alteration to the machining only will make it suitable for disc wheels. We also consider that until the entire axle is approved, which is not yet the case, it may be found necessary to make small alterations in some of the dimensions in the tube. So that we recommend that the forgings alone, for the present, be proceeded with.
